NEVRLAND

A DEPTH-PSYCHOLOGICAL COMING-OF-AGE STORY

NEVRLAND is a feature film by writer-director Gregor Schmidinger and tells the story of 17-year-old Jakob who wants nothing more than to feel alive but uncontrollable anxiety attacks force him to escape into fictional and virtual worlds.

A chance encounter in a sex-cam-chat marks the beginning of an online relationship with the seemingly perfect 26-year old Kristjan. It’s not until the death of Jakob’s only true emotional attachment, his grandfather, that he is willing to meet up with Kristjan in real life.

Over the course of one night, they embark on a transpersonal journey to the wounds of their soul where Jakob must face his biggest fear.

Geboren am 16. April 1985 in Linz. Hat Digitales Fernsehen an der Fachhochschule Salzburg studiert und seine Diplomarbeit zum Thema Transmediales Geschichtenerzählen geschrieben. Anschließendes Drehbuchstudium an der University of California in Los Angeles. Seit 2012 freischaffender Drehbuchautor und Regisseur. Seine ersten beiden Kurzfilme THE BOY NEXT DOOR (2007) und HOMOPHOBIA (2012) haben mehr als 15 Millionen Aufrufe auf YouTube.

After working for over 15 years in cultural management as a directing assistant, personal assistant and deputy for artistic directors and business directors for festival, opera, ballett and theaters, Ulrich founded his film production company ORBROCK. In 2015, he produced his first feature film, SEVENTEEN (104 min) with which he just won Best Picture at the Max-Ophüls Film Festival in 2017.
